Sharing some pictures of Give the Needy Foundation’s 2nd ration distribution to underprivileged families, from a remote school in Machar Colony in Karachi, located near the Port of Karachi and Lyari. The settlement is spread over an area of almost 4 square kilometers and is home to about 700,000 people. It is considered to be one of the most dilapidated slums in Karachi. The area is also known as Fisherman's Colony, with the word Machar derived from the Sindhi word for fisherman.
We thank all our generous donors for helping these people in need.
Thanks to all our Give the Needy Foundation donors for their generous donations for our annual Ramadan ration packages to be delivered to the needy. Most of the ration packages were delivered to Macher Colony and a few other nearby areas where there are people in dire straits. There were a lot of home deliveries to people who were in need and embarrassed to ask for help and do not want to be photographed.
They are all very thankful to all you for the month of Ramadan and send their sincere blessings to all the donors.
Starting the New Year with a helping hand to people in need. Give the Needy Foundation team in Karachi, have distributed lots of blankets, with the help of Dr. Sattar Bhugio near his medical camp, to the flood victims in the Shah Hasan village in Sehwan, situated on the brink of Mancher lake. This was the hub from where the flood devastation started. It is heartbreaking to see these people still struggling with their bare necessities to survive through a tough winter. If you would like to help the flood victims, let me know. All your donations are tax deductible.

We have provided ration to several families from Give the Needy Foundation in Karachi. It is very difficult for these underprivileged people to be out of work with stay home orders due to Corona virus, as they are mostly street vendors who make their daily wages to feed their families. I hope you can please help us donate to more families in need, so they can put food on their tables in the month of Ramadan. Any small amount would do. You can donate safely online and receive a receipt for your taxes.
Covid-19 has impacted us tremendously. Our health care professionals, delivery guys, grocery workers, mail carriers and sanitary workers etc., who are putting their lives online to help keep us safe from this pandemic. I hope you can help us keep them safe too. So, we can be a part of helping our community locally and help make a difference.
We are making cloth masks locally with proper specification and distributing it free of costs. The masks will be distributed to local workers, nursing homes and their workers, to the homeless and wherever there is a need.
These are double-layer masks with washable fabric. It is tightly woven but breathable. The outer layer is a soft cloth with an inner layer which has a slit to insert a filter of even a paper towel for added protection. It has elastic straps that loop behind the ears. The masks have an accordion fold to mimic a hospital mask.
These masks will help reduce the spread of the disease and help us battle this pandemic, along with other prevention measures, like social distancing. We will also be distributing some disposable masks, gloves and sanitizers to people in need, to help flatten the curve in this pandemic. Please help us and donate!
