Give the Needy Foundation transforming communities through the gift of clean water, we are witnessing positive change in Thar district. Thanks to our donor's support, our initiative has been successful so far and we look forward to continuing making a difference together. We have completed 138 plus well projects and have ongoing projects in the Thar district of Sanghar, Sind, Pakistan. Witnessing the positive impact on villagers' basic needs is truly fulfilling. We were pleased to discover that some of the water wells have provided additional benefits to the villagers, enabling them to grow fruits and vegetables, which significantly aids their well-being. Witnessing the immediate impact on their basic needs is truly rewarding.
Our timeline for the water well project is determined by the diligent efforts of our team, who thoroughly search for the most impoverished villages in the remote desert areas that lack access to water. Projects generally take between two to three months in completion but may take longer depending on the number of donor-sponsored project already in line These wells are bringing much-needed relief to the local villagers by addressing their essential water needs. A more significant point is that every one of these wells is active, producing water, and in operation - even those completed a few years ago. Our team periodically visits some of the water well projects for inspection.
These villages sit in flat, sandy terrain dotted with dunes and thorny shrubs. Temperatures often soar above 45°C (113°F), and frequent sandstorms quickly erode even the toughest materials—paint, pipes, and pumps included. We highly recommend our donors to pay for an annual maintenance program, for the water wells to remain in a good condition for years to follow, to benefit those in need.
If you have donated a dedicated water well, we encourage you to contact us to arrange ongoing maintenance for a small annual fee. This helps ensure your well continues to serve its community and that your meaningful dedication in honor of a loved.

We ensure the project remains highly cost-effective by focusing on the essential functionality of the water wells, prioritizing their practicality over aesthetics. This approach allows us to maximize our resources and provide critical relief to more villagers, their animals, and vegetation for their sustenance by constructing a larger number of wells. 100% of your donation goes directly to the construction of the project.

Besides helping people in small remote communities. Water wells are a vital source of clean water for animals, drastically improving their health and reducing mortality rates. By ensuring consistent access to water, these water wells help livestock and wildlife thrive, particularly during periods of extreme drought. It’s not only people who benefit. For the first time, camels, cows, sheep, and goats can drink freely. Healthy animals mean milk for children, strength for farming, and security for families. Camels drinking at the well, cows grazing, sheep gathered around water.

The wells provide an additional benefit to the villagers, enabling them to grow fruits and vegetables, which significantly aids their well-being and livelihood and providing clean drinking water — they are bringing life back to the land. With access to water, vegetation is returning, and families now have food they can grow and cook. It’s not just water — it’s nourishment, sustainability, and hope. What was once barren land now grows vegetables and fruit. Families are eating their own fresh, organic harvests for the very first time. Water turns hunger into nourishment, and despair into independence. Families planting seeds, green fields, villagers harvesting tomatoes, okra, melons and many more oraganic food.
